Product Description Misto Gourmet Brushed Aluminum Olive Oil Sprayer
Amazon.com Review For spreading olive oil evenly on bruschetta, focaccia, and grilled or roasted vegetables, and for spraying muffin and cake pans with vegetable oil, this dispenser is a nifty tool. A plastic cap underneath the sprayer's top twists off so the sprayer can be half-filled (1/3 cup) with oil. Inside the top is a plastic tube that fits over the spray nozzle. Push the top up and down to pump air pressure into the canister. Then spray for 10 seconds and pump up again. It's simple, ingenious, and practical. With its cap on, the sprayer stands just 7-5/8 inches high, so it tucks away easily on any countertop. Made of satin-finish aluminum with a black-band accent, it's sleek as well as utilitarian. --Fred Brack

should function better if so loudly displaying brand name... July 27, 2010 John Reynolds (Reno, NV) I like adding a touch of olive oil to my dishes, but the problem is it comes out far too easily from bottle = gobs of unwanted fat and kcals; hence the purchase.
There are three things that eventually made me discard the product:
1) LOUD-ASS BRAND NAME ON PRODUCT: this was just annoying in the first place, but because it seemed like the best oil sprayer available on amazon, I bought it anyway and covered it with electrical tape.
2) INCONSISTENT SPRAYING: after similar levels of pressure/pumping, sometimes you'd get a mist, sometimes it would shoot out in a relatively fine stream. Having it stream defeats the purpose of the sprayer.
3) OIL LEAKAGE!: this was the act that caused me to toss the thing. Oil began to leak not only from the suction 'tube' inside, but also from the white screw-on cap. Oil drips all over the place; not fun.
Annoying and dysfunctional does not a great product make.
Shop around for another brand July 17, 2010 Dan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have had two of these already and both eventually failed. Usually the spray evolves into a stream, and then the plastic spray mechanism, which seems very cheaply made, totally fails.
Works as advertised July 14, 2010 kend After trying a couple of other atomizers that did not work, I ordered the Misto with low expectations and it's performance exceeded them.
It has to be pumped after 30 seconds or so of spraying, but it is easy and fast process. I relieve residual pressure after using it and it has not clogged after several weeks of use.
Good product at a fair price.
if it streams just pump it up July 10, 2010 Mona Howell (San Diego, CA) I'm so happy with this Misto thing. Now I have olive oil flavor without too many unnecessary calories. I just wanted to add one small note to what others have said. My Misto started streaming instead of misting one day and all I had to do was pump it up a little more. I don't know if that will always solve the problem, but it worked for me. Also, when I was pumping it up I noticed it was getting low on oil, so I added a bit. Not too much though! The instructions say to put about 2 oz in there. That's not much, but you'd be surprised how long it lasts when you don't have an oil slick on your salads anymore. Anyway, I liked it so much I bought a second one. Not sure if I'll put canola or sesame oil in it. Maybe I need a third one...
super mister July 6, 2010 Stephen Shattuck (GLENVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA, US) get product. really conserves the olive oil and puts just the right amount on whatever.
